Pro-Ride® is the Next Generation in all-weather synthetic track

02-May-2011

Pro-Ride Racing start the year with three new tracks

The first Pro-Ride® track to be completed in 2011 is at the Cranbourne Training Centre.  The Training Centre, located approximately 40 kilometres south east of Melbourne, was established in 1990 and is used daily by 700-800 horses. As the State's largest training facility, it has 8 tracks, which are a combination of sand, grass and since February 2011, a Pro-Ride® synthetic track.

The new Pro-Ride® track is 12m wide and 1900m in length. Tracks and Facilities Manager, Simon Hodgson said "We are absolutely delighted with the performance of the new Pro-Ride track, trainers and riders are happy with it and it gives more training options".

Merely a month later the new Pro-Ride® training track at Flemington Racecourse was opened for work.  The track is 7.5m wide and 1900m in length. Flemington also has a dirt and a sand training track and caters for up to 600 horses daily. Dale Monteith, CEO of the VRC, commented that "the Pro-Ride track is a great addition to Australia's premier racing and training facility and our trainers are very happy with it".

The Ballarat training track is the third new track in the Pro-Ride Racing stable. It is located at Ballarat Race Club at Miner's Rest on the outskirts of Ballarat. The track was officially opened on the 11th April 2011. It is 8m wide and 1,400m long, rising steeply for the last 300m.

Next on the Pro-Ride Racing agenda is a new private training track for David Hayes at his Euroa facility. David has been a long time supporter of Pro-Ride Racing and had one of the first tracks installed at Lindsay Park in 2000.
