Pro-Ride Maintenance Program

Pro-Ride Racing Responsibilities

Pro-Ride Racing will take responsibility for the performance and condition of the installed synthetic footing.

This will involve the following activities:

  • Developing a tailored maintenance program designed specifically for the layout and environment
  • Benchmarking the track
  • Regular track inspection visits – approximately every six to seven weeks
  • Regular samples taken for laboratory testing
  • Regular Clegg Hammer readings for track hardness and density
  • Undertake deep track mixing
  • Ensure correct levels of fibre and binder at Pro-Ride Racing’s cost
  • Ensure correct drainage rates for footing
  • Ensure consistency of footing
  • Provide ongoing track maintenance training to staff
  • Provide Pro-Ride Track Groom™

Testing & Reporting

Tests will include:

  • Binder and Fibre quantities;
  • Density;
  • Infiltration Rates.

Reporting will include:

  • Average Binder %;
  • Average Infiltration Rates;
  • Average Density Readings;
  • Average Clegg Hammer Readings;
  • Number of horses using tracks;
  • Rainfall;
  • Track injuries and other issues as well as resolutions; and
  • General track condition assessment and comment.

Client Responsibilities

The client is responsible for:

  • Grooming track as instructed by Pro-Ride Racing with both Track Groom™ and power harrows;
  • Daily removal of contaminants and rubbish;
  • Completion of Daily Track Report, and fax/email weekly to Pro-Ride Racing;
  • Visually inspecting the track each day and approval of the footing as safe for work the next day;  and
  • Implementing the Pro-Ride maintenance procedures as outlined in the Pro-Ride Maintenance Manual.
