Geelong Synthetic Safety Review
Racing Victoria's (RV) Equine Welfare & Veterinary Department has today released the findings of a study into the state's sole synthetic racetrack at Geelong.
RV’s Chief Executive, Bernard Saundry said, “Synthetic track racing plays a key role for the industry, particularly in winter, when hosting programmed and transferred meetings whilst our turf tracks are under strain from wet weather.
“The Geelong Synthetic track is not only considerably safer, but it offers a better racing product these days, one which has been warmly embraced by punters throughout the winter months."
